Project SIgn

This aims to raise awareness, foster sensitivity, and champion inclusivity at WVSU. Under Project SIGN will be a series of sign language workshops and education drives that are open for every Taga-West.

In the hopes to help Taga-West develop the necessary and appropriate skills in communicating and handling persons with special needs, as well as learning how to do it with sensitivity in mind. As I champion this cause, my heart longs for an inclusive WVSU, a safe space where students with special needs are welcomed and included.

Testimonials

Sean Bagaforo

Student, BSHM-2A

Faci Kath is assigned to our sport. A good listener, affable, responsible, and multitasker. She listens to what the group says and does her best to provide what the group requested (butangan ice ang galonan, atbp). She is approachable and easy to talk to. Always early and facilitates where we'll stay and rest especially when we have games to play. Even though she is our faci, she is still active as an SSG and ready to help anyone.

I met nang kath for the first time during our university hinampang. She's one of the facilitators of football. And over that short period of time that we spent together as a group, nakita ko gid kung ano siya ka dedicated sa iya duties, and she even goes beyond that. Kahit yung simple na "okay na ina? Ari lang kami di if may need pa kamo ha?"and "Ano pa gid inyo need boys?". Not just that, kahit ang mga wala namon na ask but she knew that we needed, gina provide gid niya. Her presence gave us that extra boost during our games, always niya gid kami gina cheer and encourage na mag play well. Even these simple gestures can really show she can be that person we can rely on. I know that prepared gid siya for a much bigger role and that she's ready to serve not only our football team but all of us, taga west.
